1999 Jaguar S-Type

1999 Jaguar S-Type

Description

Grace, Space and Pace - a Jaguar Mark 2 for the modern age

Introduced while Jaguar was under Ford parentage, the S-Type was launched in 1998, as a smaller saloon complementary to the XJ6, and to compete in the hard-fought mid-size executive segment that had been rather dominated by the BMW 5-Series. It's combination of the traditional values of Jaguar - Grace, Space and Pace - saw it become a popular model, offering a compact chassis with true Jaguar rear-wheel-drive handling and roadholding, and an excellent ride. Its distinctive ‘retro’ looks on the outside were mirrored internally with classic-shaped instruments and seats which continued the marque’s tradition of comfort and that indefinable Jaguar feeling of sitting in the car rather than on top of the chassis.

The car offered here is a 1999 3.6-litre V-6 petrol-engined automatic that boasts a fully documented service history, maintenance carried out at Jaguar dealers and by marque specialists. It has had just one owner and has covered just 58,450 miles from new and is mechanically very sound and runs and drives as it should.

Finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic paintwork with Desert Sand cloth upholstery in excellent order, and with the optional electric glass sunroof and with a wood and leather steering wheel, this leaping cat promises to be a faithful feline friend for many years to come.
