1974 Police Rover

Description

Boys Toy with Blues and Twos-

Ever wanted your own Police car, well here’s your chance! Outstanding and very collectable original police car. Started life in Hertfordshire constabulary back in 1974, decommissioned in 1978, then restored over a decade later.

According to James Taylor a leading authority, historian and author of all things Rover the Rover P6 was unquestionably one of the best saloon cars to come out of Britain in the 1960s and was winner of the first-ever European car of the year award in 1964. Designed by Spen King, Gordon Bashford and David Bache it combined a wealth of technical innovation with a distinctive appearance that incorporated exactly the right degree of Italianate sharp-suited appearance for its time. It was, and remains, a great car to drive, and all these qualities were combined with the space and practicality of a four-seat family saloon.

It was in production between 1963-1977 by the Rover company 1963-1967, Leyland Motors 1967-1968 and British Leyland 1968-1977 in addition to the Rover P5 (concurrent to 1973)
