Description

A description from the time sums it up 'a convenient family car, a businessman's express and a grand tourer'. It was raced by drivers Graham Hill, Roy Salvadori, and Michael Parkes both in the UK and Europe.

The S-Type was also popular car with police forces throughout the country due to the models swift performance. The new cars independent rear suspension allowed faster cornering and provided a much smoother ride for rear passengers with the consensus that the S-Type offered significant improvements in road holding, safety and comfort.

Built in Coventry, this beautiful example of 1960's Jaguar styling was shipped to South Africa when it spent its 57 years and only 98,000 miles with just 2 owners.
Still with its original tool kit and incredible paperwork going back to the factory order, this is a rust free gem.

This is a rare example of the 3.8L variant, running the factory optional full synchromesh manual gearbox with overdrive, as noted in the original order.
