1949 Lancia Aprilia

Description

1949 Lancia Aprilia

Feast your eyes on this well-travelled classic! A lovely fully restored example.

Across the pond and back again, this beautiful Italian car manufactured by Lancia, was one of the first designed using wind tunnel technology in collaboration with famous designer Battista Farina and the Politecnico di Torino (Polytechnic University of Turin), established in 1859 as a technical school for engineers.

Built between 1937 & 1949, it was Vincenzo Lancia's final masterpiece before reaching the end of his life in 1937.

This RHD 1500cc Aprilia was produced in the final year of production in January 1949 and originally registered in the UK.

The Aprilia's were renowned for their handling performance and quality and were frequently raced throughout Europe and the UK.

This one is eligible for the Mille Miglia and other vintage tours and rallies.

In 2012, it was exported to America and was restored by the award winning by Pro-Tech of Washington, stripped to a bare shell and completely rebuilt at a cost of $60,000.

The Aprilia was then shipped back to these shores in 2017, and has recently just had a new engine rebuild.
